Why Women Empowerment through education?
Women are paid less than men for doing the same jobs. Also, women spend most of their time working on unpaid tasks to support their families. As a result, women have lower lifetime earnings, culminating in old-age poverty for many women.
- Globally, 247 million women aged 15 years and above lived below the poverty line (1.90 USD per day) in 2021, compared to 236 million men.
